The Best Way to Fasten Cloth DiapersAug 31, 2010 Snappi Fasteners are awesome! Every time someone sees me using them on our son's cloth prefolds, they comment what a neat idea they are, and how much easier they are than pins. They last a long time and we've never had one come loose. Instead of buying expensive, prefitted cloth diapers, just buy prefolds and use Snappis. It's just as easy to fasten them, and WAY cheaper!
newmomAug 15, 2010 the ultimate must have for a cloth diapering family!! No more pins to worry about and super easy. (especially on a squirmy, wiggly little one!)
Very useful for prefoldsJul 30, 2010 These little gadgets make cloth diapering with prefolds or flats so much easier. Changing a diaper using one of these is just as quick as changing a disposable once you get the hang of it. I use BabyKicks hemp pre-folds and these grip the material very well. Just a few things I'll point out, first emphasizing these are minor issues and I do recommend these to mamas who can't afford fancy pocket diapers but still want ease of use.
1. They are sharper than you would expect. They always seemed so soft and benign, until one day I caught the teeth on my finger during a diaper change- Ouch! It bled. However, this is much less likely to happen than with pins.
2. I do not recommend these for toddlers. My daughter is exceptionally bright for her age, and could unfasten a disposable or velcro pocket diaper by 4 months old. At 7 months old, she can easily unfasten a Snappi, as well as the velcro diaper covers, so we just have a rule in the house that she must ALWAYS have shorts or bloomers over her diaper. I don't believe this is at all a flaw in the product, I just have a very mischievous, bright little girl. But once your child gets to that diaper-removing stage, whenever that may be, these don't stand a chance against those wandering fingers.
Other than that, we love our Snappis. They are easy to wash, easy to use and take the hard work out of cloth diapering.
Good idea; Bad sizingJul 20, 2010 I tried these for my grandson. They're great but the size 1 which says to 18 months doesn't fit my 4 month old (17 lb.) grandson. If they did, I would be quite happy. I believe there is a toddler size but I haven't been able to find it online.
My Husband "This is the best diaper invention EVER!"Jul 10, 2010 The velcro closures on our BumGenius are a bit worn and our toddler LOVES to take her diapers off, which is mostly fine... except in bed when the sheets need constant changing!
These snappis are great! I was worried they might mar the fabric of the diapers but they don't seem to at all.
It's summertime and baby loves to run around with as little clothing as possible, Snappis to the rescue!!
